"The Halfway Point"
Happy 2005 to everyone!
Hope this finds everyone doing great. Here we are at what is called the "Halfway
Point". This is a great time to look at what you have accomplished (or not…)
and where you want to go from here. There were some great articles in the recent
issue of the Almanac from FPEA. They were all about how to deal with getting
the "blahs" this time of year and a great reminder that you are not the only
family going through it.
I usually need that gentle reminder that each of us, as a family, is moving
at our own pace, in our own way. God has us all here together to support and
help each other ~ in our own unique way. The more I focus on Him and my family
and the less I worry about how things are being done over there or an opinion
of what I am doing, the better our lives are enriched by this wonderful homeschooling
experience. Gosh, it hit me the other day that my oldest is in 7th grade, we
have always homeschooled….WOW! That is a long time to be homeschooling and I
still feel like I am learning so much every day. Just know, that we are all
going through things at different times and anytime you feel like you need to
pull your hair out, or as Jacque has said, "Call that big yellow taxi (school
bus) to pick up your kids", please just reach out. There are so many wonderful
families in Lighthouse this year, everyone has been great at helping each other,
so let's keep it up….only 4 months to convention!!
Thank you to so many for stepping up with the field trips this year. There are
some great things planned and the calendar is filling up. If you have any ideas
or questions at all, please just call and ask. I would love to help you set
something up.
Blessings to you and yours!
Sarah
