Lighthouse
Homeschoolers, Inc. is a Florida Not-for-Profit Corporation based
in Lakeland, Florida. It operates as a cooperative group of homeschooling
parents and children and provides support to interested homeschoolers
throughout Polk County. We are Christian-based but not Christian-exclusive.
Our purpose is to encourage family members in their homeschooling
efforts by providing information, socialization, fellowship, and
support.
Specifically:
- to
take advantage of group rates to events and places that would
cost us more on our own

to provide opportunities for review and discussion of curricula

to provide educational and social opportunities through field
trips and special activities

to provide information about political issues regarding the rights
of homeschoolers

to provide information about county and state requirements, evaluation/testing
-
to foster orderliness and responsibility in our personal lives
and in the education of our children

to present to the community a positive example of homeschooling
Lighthouse
Plus
is an extension of Lighthouse for students who are age 10 and above
as of September 1st of the current membership year.
